At HollywoodPrize, we offer client Sponsors both Sweepstakes and Contests hosting. Sweepstakes are defined as games or events in which winners are chosen between two or more people on the basis of random drawing. Contests, on the other hand, are defined as challenges between two or more people in which winners are selected on the basis of skill or merit. Since our Video Voting Contest Winners are determined by a combination of Fan / Artist votes as well as Sponsor judgment, HollywoodPrize makes a distinction between these promotions and Sweepstakes since they lack the element of random drawing.

HollywoodPrize does not allow any cash lottos but that does not mean client Sponsors should not think about bonding. If a HollywoodPrize client Sponsor offers a giveway in which the cash value of the prize equals $5000 or greater, then that individual or company must register and post a bond in the states of Florida and New York. For prize giveways at retail locations that offer cash values equal to $500 or greater, these promotions must be registered but not bonded in the state of Rhode Island.

Online Promotions Group does not offer posting or bond registration services. Online Promotions Group / HollywoodPrize is also not responsible for posting or registering bonds on the behalf of client Sponsors. Legally, we are a data collection service provider for the client Sponsor. However, we do partner with several firms that do offer such services and can help you to ensure your sweepstakes is fully compliant with state laws.

Typically, though, the vast majority of HollywoodPrize´s client Sponsor prize giveaways are worth less than $5000 and thus such promotions are not required to post and register a bond.
