Short codes, also known as short numbers, are unique telephone numbers that are shorter than full telephone numbers yet primarily used to send SMS and MMS messages from mobile phones or fixed phones.

In 2008, Online Promotions Group (OPG) was one of the first digital promotions companies to use short codes for Video Voting Contests and Mobile Sweepstakes or Contests. HollywoodPrize Contestants (Fans or Artists) can "text" in their vote during your Mobile Sweepstakes or Contest to this 5-digit Mobile Short Code number by placing the contest keyword in the subject line. These votes will then be attached back to the Contestant´s profile and historically recorded on HollywoodPrize.

In addition to the Classic Sweeps and Video Voting benefits, Mobile Short Code Contests, Sweepstakes and Voting offers Client Sponsors the following:

• Choice of Contest keyword* used by Contestants to vote. For instance, text "winhollywoodprizedvd" to Mobile Short Code number. (Additional fees may be assessed to the Contestant based on the user´s data plan with a wireless provider (AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Spint, T-Mobile))
• Contestant texts / votes are captured and attached back to their Contestant (Artist or Fan) profiles on HollywoodPrize
• Limit of 1 vote per day (maximum) per Contestant (Artist or Fan) mobile number
• Ability to send outbound texts to Contestants (Artists or Fans) based on their voting preferences. For instance, you can text Contestants that voted for Artist #1 and so on.
