Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

HollywoodPrize is the premiere artist business and fan website. Our primary focus is the media and entertainment industry in which we provide data hosting and capture services for a variety of promotions including Sweepstakes, Contests, Event Registration, Music / Film Festivals and Actor / Actress Online Submissions for Casting Directors. We also provide Artists with their own MyPortfolio pages in which they can promote their art, build email and mobile SMS lists and upload videos. Agents, Managers and Artist Rep´s can submit Actors / Actresses for roles posted by Casting Directors. While entertainment fans can vote on Artist Videos, register for Sweepstakes, Contests or Events, join Artist Online Street Teams and receive texts from their favorite artists.

In sum, Artists and Entertainment brands can use HollywoodPrize to capture data (called "leads") in order to build lists (i.e. fans online) and learn about demographics, measure potential fan / consumer interest and where, who, what, where and how to market their product or art.

Q. What is difference between a Contestant / Fan and a Contestant / Artist?

A. Fans are not Artists. Fans are entertainment consumers who love to buy, consume, follow, review and read about art but they do not create the art nor considering a career in the arts. Fans on HollywoodPrize either want to promote artists or win prizes.

Artists are individuals or groups of people who seek to create, perform, record, publish or express art as a means of artistic expression. Some are lucky enough to pursue their craft professionally as a career but most at least have some skill, either natural or trained, to work in the field. Artists use HollywoodPrize to promote their art, connect with fans, get noticed by the entertainment industry and also win prizes.

Q. When I click on the various buttons on MySpotlight or MyPortfolio page, nothing happens. Why?

A. Patience. Please wait a moment for the content to appear when you click on the content areas of these pages. We are using something called AJAX which takes a moment to load on your browser.

Q. When I try to vote on a video, nothing happens. Why?

A. You must be logged in as either a Contestant/Fan or a Contestant/Artist to vote. If you are logged in as one of these two, please click on the number of star(s) that you feel the video should be rated and wait a moment for the star(s) of your choice to appear or click on My Vote For Best Video. We are using something called AJAX which takes a moment to load on your browser.

Q. What are Link Partners? What is their role on HollywoodPrize?

A. Link Partners are typically webmasters, authors, bloggers, or other website owners that would like to link to HollywoodPrize and receive reciprocal traffic. With permission from the client Sponsor, Link Partners are able to place a 90x90 button image on that Sponsor´s sweepstakes contest page and receive traffic back to their site that is almost always relevant to the prize offered or the Sponsor offering the prize.

Q. Who pays for HollywoodPrize? How does this site earn revenue?

A. Sponsors pay fees to Online Promotions Group for digital marketing and technology services offered through HollywoodPrize. These services include Sweepstakes Contest hosting, mobile marketing, online street teams, casting submissions, and online festival registrations to name a few. Alternatively, clients can also pay to simply advertise on HollywoodPrize and reach entertainment fans and artists by category.

Thus, Contestants or Link Partners are never charged any fees on this site.

Q. Why do Artists have to open both a Contestant account and a Sponsor account to run Sweepstakes and other various promotions?

A. Artists are unique on HollywoodPrize because they can sometimes play a dual role of promoting themselves to fans as well as promoting themselves to the entertainment industry. In order to run campaigns such as Sweepstakes Contests on this site, Artists or their Agents, Managers or Representation must Create A Sponsor Account. Client Sponsor accounts also have various Contestant Data Export and web analytics tools available that Contestant and Link Partners accounts do not.

Q. Ok, explain Key Holders and Coins to me? I am confused.

A. Key Holders are simply friends or social contacts. We chose the term Key Holders because HollywoodPrize´s entire Contact Management System is something called MyTreasure Chest.

In order to Add a New Key Holder, you must already know that person´s email address registered on HollywoodPrize. However, the following rules were created to determine who can connect with each other on HollywoodPrize:

Key Holder Rules:

Fans can be Key Holders of both Artists and other Fans.

Artists can be Key Holders of both other Artists, Fans, and Sponsors.

Link Partners can be Key Holders of Sponsors only.

Sponsors can be Key Holders of Artists and Link Partners only.

These relationships were carefully considered when we launched this site´s social networking technology.

Coins are simply emails exchanged throught the MyTreasure Chest Contact Management System between Key Holders. Only Key Holders can exchange Coins.

Q. Are there any personal pages available on HollywoodPrize?

A. Yes, but they are only available for Contestants. They are called MySpotlight (for Fans) and MyPortfolio (for Artists) pages. Each MySpotlight or MyPortfolio page comes with a dedicated URL that is easy to remember as www.hollywoodprize.com/myusername

The Contestant Login ID is the myusername portion of the URL. So if you are a Contestant and ready to Create a Contestant Account, please be very careful when choosing your Login ID.

Q. I tried to tried a Contestant Account but HollywoodPrize said my email address was already on file. How can be this be possible?

A. If you have entered a Sweepstakes Contest, Festival or RSVP´d to an Event through HollywoodPrize in the past, you simultanously created a Contestant Account and may not have realized it. This is why we ask for a User ID and Password on the registration / entry form so that you can log back into your account at a later time. We encourage you to be very careful when choosing your User ID during the initial registration as that ID will permanantly be associated with your email address.

Q. Since I entered into a Sweepstakes Contest, Festival or Event before, do I have to re-create another Contestant Account to enter a new promotion?

A. No. Since our inception in 2003, HollywoodPrize was the first sweepstakes contests site to offer Add A Contest to My Profile (patent-pending) technology. This allows Contestants (Fans or Artists) to enter contests, festivals or events without ever having to re-input basic contact information. Simply login to your Contestant (Fan or Artist) account, click on MyContests or MyFestivals and then Add A Contest or Add A Festival. For Events, please use Add A Contest.

From there, you can choose to enter into a new Sweepstakes Contest, Festival or Event and still have the opportunity to review the rules, terms, privacy policy, etc as though you were entering for the first time. The difference is you would not have to key in any basic contact information. Simply click the "Submit" button. This represents a huge time savings.

Q. Besides winning prizes, are there any other types of rewards for Contestants (Fans or Artists) on HollywoodPrize?

A. Yes. In fact, HollywoodPrize was one of the first sites to launch the Loyalty Rewards program for entertainment brand promotions. Each time you enter a sweepstakes contest, festival, event or join an Online Street Team, you are rewarded with 1 (ONE) Fan Loyalty Rewards Point. Earn enough Points and HollywoodPrize (not the Sponsor) will send you a free prize to your valid Postal address on file.

If a Contestant (Fans or Artists) tries to create bogus Contestant accounts in order to accumulate points and earn free prizes, then that individual will need to prove that the Postal Address is or was valid or provide documentation from the bank that he/she has moved. Any user caught changing addresses or editing account information just to beat the system will be subjected to Contestant Account termination immediately by HollywoodPrize and disqualified from free prize rewards.

Q. Are there any other methods for Contestants (Fans or Artists) to earn Loyalty Rewards Points on HollywoodPrize?

A. Yes. HollywoodPrize also offers Refer A Friend. For each "qualifed" friend you refer to our site that creates an account, you can earn 1 (ONE) Loyalty Rewards Point. The friend can create any type of account: Contestant (Fan or Artist), Sponsor or Link Partner.

A "qualified" friend is defined as a registrant (Contestant Fan / Artist, Sponsor or Link Partner) with a valid email address, name and Postal address.

HollywoodPrize allows Contestants to add as many as 10 friends at one time from the Sweepstakes Contest, Festival or Event Registration page (with Sponsor approval) or one friend at a time. Each friend is tracked separately under MyReferral History.
