Video Voting Contests

In 2008, HollywoodPrize re-launched a whole new website design and expanded its database capabilities to include Video Voting contests. These contests are typically merit-based promotions in which fans and artists vote on the "best video" to determine the winner.

There are typically two types of Video Voting contests on HollywoodPrize:

1) User-Generated Content - Contests that allow fans and/or artists to upload videos and vote on their own creations. Video finalists are either determined by vote count or by the Sponsorīs rating.

2) Sponsor-Generated Content - Contests in which video finalists are pre-determined by the Sponsor and no video entries are accepted from fans or artists.

There are some contests, however, that incorporates both types of content.

Along with the benefits of a Classic Sweeps, there are several additional benefits of participating in a Video Voting contest:

• Artists can promote their work and fans can provide feedback through 1 thru 4 star ratings
• Fans connected to Artists as KeyHolders may also provide written comments to Videos
• When applicable, fans can create their own content and allow Sponsors narrow down submissions for the voting phase
• Multiple voting methods: Mobile Short Code or broadband / online login voting
  
  a) Contestants can text their vote* in using a 5 digit number and contest keyword

  b) Contestants can login to HollywoodPrize and cast their vote online
• Videos are carefully screened by Sponsors and HollywoodPrize staff to only include art, media or entertainment content only
• Videos can be shared using HollywoodPrize partner technology either by IM, email or widgets
• Real-time Voting Standings are always available via the HollywoodPrize contest page for Contestants and Sponsors to track the leaderboard
• Contestant Voting History allows you to track previous votes even if they are sent through a mobile device
• Videos organized and searchable by HollywoodPrize´s 10 art categories: music, tv/film, acting/theatre, comedy, peformance art, fine art, fashion, models, photography, authors
• Video winners determined by Sponsor´s final rating or aggregate fan votes
